The Hoveys Take Gili T
After Sanur we were due to head to Gili T. There were some nerves over the ferry and the weather. We have all seen the terrifying boat journeys with crashing waves and capsized vessels. Thankfully we had nothing to worry about as Mark had done his research and found a very safe and comfortable ferry. We could even go on the rooftop and enjoy some sun.
Gili T has no petrol vehicles. They have horse and carts, bicycles, and a few electric scooters. We checked into our hotel and relaxed.
The next few days were bliss. We sunbathed, swam, and snorkeled. At one beach we even saw 6 turtles chilling out eating the algae near the shore. You didn’t even have to go into the water to spot them.
We had lovely food and drinks. We even joked that we were eating and drinking more with the Hoveys than we had so far!
On one day Mark, Robin and I did a cooking course. We made these mochi pandan coconut balls filled with melted palm sugar, fried tempeh with spicy peanut sauce, yellow curry, and a mie goreng. Everything was delicious and we were the only people doing the lesson. A private class.
Overall we had an amazing time with Gail and Mark and are very grateful for their visit. We stayed in lovely hotels and indulged in yummy food. We wish them a safe journey to Singapore and back to London.
