Subterranean River, More Waterfalls, Pizza
The rain kept us awake most of the night so we had a slight lie in. There was a huge storm.
After some hotel breakfast we decided to go explore the subterranean river of Siquijor. It was not a sunny day so going underground wouldn’t take away from beach or tanning time.
Once we paid entry we were kitted out with headlights and life jackets. Our guide took us into the jungle and down very steep stairs before reaching the mouth of the cave. We entered and it got warmer. Then we heard water and had to drop down into the river. Surprisingly the water wasn’t too cold. We have definitely had colder showers whilst traveling.
We then swam 200m through the cave in the river. Other guides were making dog, goat, and chicken noises to confuse other guests. At the end, the guides had made a clay statue.
After the river we went to another waterfall. This one has concrete animals decorating the walk down. Behind the falls were tiny caves you would climb to and then jump down.
On our way back to the hotel we grabbed some pastries and cakes from the bakery. The rain came again so we relaxed before dinner.
For food we went to another hostel and had sourdough pizzas. There was a kitten which Robin quickly befriended and it devoured our left over cheese and chicken.
