Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Gina

Our next and final country is Malaysia. A British colonial country it thankfully has the same plug outlets as back home so no more adapters!!

We landed to a thunderstorm with lightening illuminating the city as we traveled in. Our first apartment is near the Petronas towers, two lit up towers connected with a skybridge as a monument symbolizing KL.

Day 1 was a shopping day. The exchange rate is excellent here and we did a lot of shopping. I upgraded my phone to the new 16!

In the evening we met with Gina! She had just come from the UK and was exhausted. We chomped some food and went to bed.

The next day we had a slightly lazy morning before going to the mall again with Gina. We ate in the food court and then went to a Batik making class. This style of fabric dying involves stenciling areas you wish to keep clear with hot wax and then using water based colours to fill the areas in between. I did a bonsai tree, Gina did tulips and Robin did some koi fish. We did them on tote bags to make a useful batik.

In the evening we ventured out to Suzie wongs cocktail and Caberet bar. It was hidden away but once we were in it was intimate and designed like a home Kong speakeasy. Unfortunately we were very underwhelmed. The drinks were very average and very expensive. The Caberet and show itself was 5 girls lip syncing to 4 songs. Quite the let down.

We finished with a maccies.
