Lombok Waterfalls, Leeches, Family Dinner

We booked a tour through our hostel for a waterfall trip. It includes 2 waterfalls, one being the largest on Lombok.

The drive was around an hour and a half to get the the start point in the Rinjani National park. Around 10 minutes before arriving the rain came. Torrential as per Indonesia’s usual. We put on some very fashionable ponchos and began the hike to the first waterfall.

The first one consisted of three streams pouring into a central pond. With the rain the waterfalls were incredible with lots of water coming down them.

The second was available for swimming. Women had to wear sarongs. It was here I realized I had two hitchhikers on my knees. Two leeches. Robin valiantly saved the day by flicking them off. They didn’t hurt but didn’t stop bleeding for ages.

Once back at the hostel we had time to shower before a family style dinner. Grilled chicken, tempe, and fried veges. Delicious.
