Hostel Change, Motorbike Adventure, Naga Temple
Today we began by waking up and changing hostels. We arrived at our planned hostel and immediately felt at ease. Clean beds, aircon, working plugs, no mosquitoes, blankets, modern shower. Feeling euphoric from our hostel success we decided to spend the day on a moped zooming between waterfalls and scenic beaches.
We hired a 125cc motorbike from the place endorsed by the hostel. Robin point blank refused to be on her own so I stepped up and had 20 minutes to work out the new weight balance. It came naturally and we were soon on our way to waterfall 1.
Paradise waterfall is a picturesque image with plunge pools suitable for swimming- in the rainy season. We had only managed to arrive at then end of dry season which meant no rain; that meant no water and consequently no waterfall.
Not letting that get us down we decided that there must still be water in the sea as we had ferried over and it would have to have taken a biblical event to evaporate the ocean. We hit the beaches. Finding a lovely middle eastern inspired cafe, we had some filled pita for lunch accompanied with iced tea and coffee. The next stop we had a detox juice and an iced green tea.
Finally we drove to a temple famous for its naga staircase. Snakes of course being seen as protectors in Buddhism. Building Snenny’s ego ( if you know you know if not you’re not special enough). Feeling peckish after all the sightseeing, swimming, and driving, we stopped at the night market to grab some dinner.
Back to the hostel. A few drinks. Games of pool. Giant snail. Tucked up into bed :)
