Happy New Year!!! SIARGAO

We flew once again by scary propeller plane to the surfers paradise of Siargao. This is a small island full of small coastal surfing towns. The famous wave area is called Cloud 9 and hosts many competitions.

Our hostel is a small family run place full of cats and dogs. We met all the dogs but found ourselves happiest with the two cats, Ocean and Ming Ming. Ocean became cheeky and snuck into our dorm room and began testing out all the beds. We turned a blind eye.

For new years we had a few drinks at another hostel and made some friends. We did a pub quiz on 2024. Nothing like the superior Bremner quiz though ;)

We took a tuk tuk to a beach club and began boogieing until we heard the 1 minute countdown. I promptly called my mum so she could count with us and watch the fireworks.

After the countdown the club began pumping foam to create a foam party so we left. We went back to our hostel and had some food and chatted for an hour and played with Ocean and the dogs.

The next day we had a late brunch and sourced a bike for the next 7 days. We have booked into a surf lesson for tomorrow with an early start of 6am due to tides.
