Cloud 9 Big Surf, Sourdough Toasties, Magpupungko Rock Pools

I had another surf lesson today so got up early at 7:30am. Robin came to watch with a coffee. We ended up in a different area of the beach and on a hard board. The surf was much larger with waves taller than me! It was scary but fun. I had some great waves and some even greater wipeouts.

After surfing we went to a brunch place. We had sourdough toasties which were 10/10. I had a hibiscus kombucha and robin a cold brew.

We decided to check out the only supermarket on the island. We bought some tuna and some pasta to do some lunches at the hostel. We also grabbed a cheeky dairy milk chocolate bar.

From there we went to Magpupungko tidal pools. During low tide, swimming pools emerge from the rocks. These have deep water for cliff jumping as well as shallow water for rock pooling. We saw many crabs and fish as well as some fish which seemed to also be able to survive out of the water and climb rocks. They reminded me of mud skippers.

We drove back from here and tried a few more surf shops for souvenirs before agreeing we both fancied a burger for dinner.

Tomorrow we are going to have a lie in and make our tuna pasta for lunch.
