Boracay Boat Trip
With bad weather looming through Cebu island we made the decision to fly to Boracay. We initially chose to skip this island because it is very expensive and westernized. We took a taxi, plane, tuk tuk, ferry, and e-trike to reach the island. We immediately loved it! White sand beaches, sun, blue water, palm trees. What’s not to like! (The price lol)
Today we got up at 7am to make it to our boat trip meeting point at 8am. We met our lovely tour guide and boarded the boat. Despite being on many boats in the Philippines, this was the first with netting outside the main boat to lie on as we sailed around.
We stopped first for snorkeling. Next we stopped at Crystal Cove Island which had two sea caves. These were accessible and you could watch the waves crash into the rocks as you were splashed and sprayed. On the way back to the boat we enjoyed stunning views of the blue water and white sands.
Next stop was lunch on and island called crocodile island. It was shaped as a crocodile. Food was buffet style and was amazing; spring rolls, battered fish, noodles, rice of course, boiled veg, and chicken.
Our final stop was Puka beach. The water was bright blue contrasting with the white sand. We enjoyed sunbathing and swimming.
After our boat day we were hungry and so found a booth selling an ube dessert. The purple yam makes for a yummy base for ice cream and puddings.
