Battamambang, Museum, Bap Bar
The bus to Battambang was only 3 and a half hours. We arrived on time at 2pm and checked into our hostel. Robin had managed to find us a place at $2 per night. Very affordable for an AC room, hot water, breakfast, and bunk beds. The hostel is also under renovation so will be even better once complete with hints of a jacuzzi, better dorms, and better bathrooms.
We strolled around looking for anything interesting and found a museum. We learnt about the Neolithic settlements near Battambang and the archeological sites being excavated. We also learnt about the types of idols and religious monoliths and statues that Cambodia harbours.
We found ourselves hungry so went to the coconut lyly restaurant. I had beef loklak which was incredible whilst Robin had fish anok. Our first sheet food experience was amazing. So far so good Cambodia.
We finished the evening at a local bar. The owner, bap, played cards with us exchanging games until 11pm. We then arranged a badminton game tomorrow. Hopefully we make it.
