Travel to Koh Phi Phi, Stray Cat, and Beach Time

Up bright and early at 7am to finish packing our bags for travel to Koh Phi Phi. Gobbled up the free breakfast of poached eggs, toast, and fruit. Ordered the Grab to the pier with everything going swimmingly until we both felt a gurgle in our stomaches. A quick nip to the loo and we travelled to the pier. The wind was blistering as we walked down the pier to the ferry awaiting us. We were not full of hope for the journey ahead. The rain beat down on the ferry windows zigzagging through the air; an effect induced by the cross winds. The ferry chugged out of the port and we began the 2 hour journey to Phi Phi. The sea was forgiving and the precursor to the trip was the roughest point.

Arriving in Phi Phi we relished in the sunny skies and 30°C weather. We found our hostel in a quieter side of the island and unpacked. Not wanting to waste the rare sunny weather we changed into our bikinis and headed to the beach for a swim and a sunbathe. On our way we booked onto a snorkeling day tour for tomorrow. Whilst on the beach we realized that all the local cats viewed the mass of sand as a never ending litter box. They were in kitty litter heaven. We bared in mind that from that moment we would not walk through the littler box without protective footwear. The sea was warm but very shallow. We floated around with our bums dragging in the sand below. One moment a fish flew out of the water between Robin and I. It arced through the air and splashed a good 2 meters from its exit point. Noted: sand is kitty litter, sea is fish Olympics.

After our beach trip we got ready for dinner. Being on the quieter side of the island we are staying near the local accommodations areas. The perk of this being local food places. We indulged on a beef noodle broth dish and a chicken rice meal. 10/10 and a quarter of the price compared to town. We ended dinner at a neon bar with a very friendly feline. Made us both miss our kitties back home. Shout out to Penny and Bella.

Off to bed now for an early 6:00am start of our day trip.
