Silver Ring Making, A Silly Mistake, Bowling and Archery

So we got up early thinking today was the day to checkout and get the train to Vang Vieng.

We hopped on two of the free pedal bikes the hostel offered and rode down to a jewelry shop called Garden of Eden. To get there we ended up crossing a bridge that is two wheeled vehicles only and had to keep the bike balanced within two planks of wood laid lengthways.

Garden of Eden was a cute little shop right on the River front. We checked in and received our bags of silver and were shown to our seats. We had 5 hours of melting down silver and manipulating it into the designs we wanted. It was hard to do and every couple minutes you had to re fire the silver to make it workable without cracking or breaking.

Robin made a sun and a heart ring. I did a green gem wrap around ring and a moon phase ring. Happy with our creations we searched for a lunch spot.

We found a small restaurant and had two flavoured sodas. I ordered the Thai beef salad. Robin, still recovering from a dodgy stomach the night before, settled on some coconut crackers and savoury rice cakes.

On our way back to the hostel we stopped by a post office to send some souvenir gifts back home. Thinking we were now short on time we raced back to the hostel to make sure we were ready to go. I then suggested we check the tickets to see which train seats we had. That was strange the tickets had the date as the 16/10. This is what happens when two ADHD girls go traveling!

It wasn’t all bad. We still had our beds so we went for a nap having gotten up early for packing and jewelry making. We went to the hostel bar and met a really fun group of people whom we got the tuk tuk to the bowling again. I won this time! After bowling we had a game of archery before deciding to call it a night and head back for bed. Hence the day after blog post.
