Northern Siargao, Alegria Beach, Shopping
Sadly today was our last full day in Siargao. The morning was sunny and so to make the most of it we decided to go on a little road trip to the north of the island. The south where we stayed is the surf and busy area. The north has white sand beaches and beach eateries.
The drive was around an hour and a half. We enjoyed watching the beach island scenery go by as we zipped along the roads. We encountered two road blocks where the government was checking cars and bikes for harmful emissions. The Philippines is big on sustainability and the environment with frequent tourism environment payments on entering islands, rubbish separating, recyclable foodstuffs.
We reached alegria beach and began sunbathing and swimming in the sea. We had brought a mini picnic of tuna, crackers, peanut butter, apples, coconut wafers, and Diet Coke. We had our lunch and it started to rain. We stored out stuff in a hut and swam in the rain for a couple hours. We still got a tan!
On our drive back we stopped at a surf shop. I got another t shirt bringing my collection from siargao up to 3 and robin got a new bikini.
We grabbed food on the way back before returning the bike and packing for our flight tomorrow.
