Dragon Mountain, Bear Sanctuary, Buffalo Cave

With Robin feeling a lot better we decided to make the most of the day and knock off the must-do’s in Ninh Binh.

We began my going to the Buffalo Cave, a family run eco site. Here we got to feet ducklings, explore a cave, feed water buffalo, see traditional fishing, try fishing, learn about rice farming, and pet the very cute puppies with a drink included in the £2.30 ticket price!

After this we headed to Hang Moa, lying dragon mountain. We climbed 500 steps to reach the top and were rewarded with the most amazing view. The dragon statue itself was further up a more rocky path so we visited the head and then decided to not go further.

After some lunch, we collected our washing and packed our bags. For the afternoon we drove around 50 minutes to the bear sanctuary. We learnt all about the rescue of bears in Vietnam from traditional medicine practices of bile extraction. We were also lucky to see 4 bears!

Then we drove back and had dinner.
